Starting over in life, again.

“It’s never too late to become who you want to be. I hope you live a life that you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over.”

– F. Scott Fitzgerald

There have been a lot of people wanting to start over. I’ve been seeing a lot of posts and videos of people practically confessing this deep need to move on. They’ve felt an ending of a path and need to look for something new.

I’m also no stranger to feelings of having to start over and learn how to rebuild again. It’s happened multiple times.

At first it’s always hard to move through the realization that what was working, no longer does. To go through a grieving process and find the strength to get back up and do it all over again.

I’d like to say that each time it gets easier. But each situation is different and it usually brings new levels of complexity.

Most of these new beginnings tend to be in regards to a career shift. But we know that life is more interwoven than one area. Everything connected. One area of life affects the rest.

Lately, it seems that everyone is feeling a major cycle is done. And the one dreaded question that keeps coming up, “is it too late to start over again?”

No.

It’s never too late to do anything you want to pursue.

If you’re still breathing, you can make a change. If you’re not satisfied with where you’re at in life…you are actually obligated to make the changes.

You owe it to yourself.

This is how to practice radical accountability. This is how to bring in unconditional love within. By putting these actions into motion for yourself, it’ll be reflected in the qualities of others around you.

We aren’t always ready for change. But when it’s clear that it's time to head in a new direction, take the call. Think of this as your soul calling you into a personal initiation.

A personal rite of passage that heralds in the next level of growth.

It’s a new portal that you’re wanting to enter, bringing you into a new timeline of your life.

It may feel like you’re starting over. But you’re just starting again.

Be proud you’ve changed. Shed that old energetic skin with compassion for it brought you the place you’re standing in today. Nothing stays the same, not even you.

When you look back at the end of your life, and you’ve embarked on these cyclical nudges. You’ll get the lucky opportunity to see how many lives you’ve actually lived. All the various sweet versions you’ve played.

My friend, it’s time to move up and move out. Take  time to prepare yourself, gather your thoughts and get clear on a vision towards a new horizon.

Even if you’re not completely sure where you’re going, just keep moving forward.

Remember to let go of judgment. Anyone that heavily projects their opinions tends to be too insecure to make decisions in their life. Words of caution only need to go so far.

Remember to let go of fear. Anyone that tries to give you their worries tends to be too scared to take real actions in life. We call them scaredy cats.

Take baby steps and research what you need to know. And keep going.

Embrace curiosity. When change is calling you, listen to it. It’s the soul in your body shaking you to get into a new environment.

It’s time to rise up and start again. When there’s new growth ready to take place, the old needs to stay in the past to make room for progress.

So, where does one start, in starting over?

I’m glad you asked. Here are a few suggestions to consider as you craft your master plan.

There are two important steps to make for any change (and twelve dozen micro steps in-between).

Step one: Make a decision on what needs to be changed.

Step two: Take action towards it.

While this may seem like an oversimplification, it's not. These two steps are the only two needed steps to make anything happen. And the ironic part is step one will be the hardest one to do.

Learning what we want and then making a definitive decision is a secret fear we all have. We fear we’ll fail to pick the right one. We fear that we won’t be able to correct a mistake. We fear that the change will take us away from what we know.

If it’s the right change for you, do it anyway. Remember your soul has been shaking you to choose you first. Get going.

If change wasn’t what was needed, you wouldn’t feel it to begin with.

Even if you don’t feel this right now, at some point you will. And when it does, come back to read this note. And don’t forget those two main steps.

Decide and Take Action.
